This is a fantastic development opportunity to join the Deputy’s Unit for a 12 month secondment with a view towards permanency following review.
The Deputy’s Unit provides an essential part of service delivery to clients who are incapable of managing their own financial affairs, working towards the overall aims of the Wales Safeguarding Procedures and within the Best Practice guidelines of the Mental Capacity Act.
You will act on behalf of the named Appointee/Deputy for clients, ensuring they receive their full entitlement to benefits and that suitable accounts are operated and saving levels monitored effectively. You will work closely with, and provide cover for the Deputy’s Manager as required.
You will have a relevant degree or equivalent discipline, have an ability to work within financial guidelines and audit procedures, experience of claiming benefits on behalf of others and of liaising with creditors, debtors and other external agencies. The ability to absorb legislative changes and implement the resulting adaptations to working practices, including providing training for other staff members, is also considered essential.
The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English is essential and desirable in Welsh.
Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to obtain a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Mae Uned y Dirprwy yn darparu rhan hanfodol o’r broses o ddarparu gwasanaeth i gleientiaid nad ydynt yn gallu rheoli eu materion ariannol eu hunain, gan weithio tuag at amcanion cyffredinol Gweithdrefnau Diogelu Cymru ac o fewn canllawiau Arfer Gorau y Ddeddf Galluedd Meddyliol.
Byddwch yn gweithredu ar ran y Penodai/Dirprwy a enwir ar gyfer cleientiaid gan sicrhau eu bod yn derbyn eu hawl llawn i fudd-daliadau a bod cyfrifon addas yn cael eu gweithredu a lefelau cynilo yn cael eu monitro’n effeithiol. Hefyd ystyrir yn hanfodol y gallu i amsugno newidiadau deddfwriaethol a gweithredu’r addasiadau o ganlyniad i arferion gweithio, gan gynnwys darparu hyfforddiant ar gyfer aelodau eraill o staff.
Mae’r gallu i gyfathrebu'n effeithiol ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig yn Saesneg yn hanfodol ac yn y Gymraeg yn ddymunol.
O ganlyniad i natur y gwaith, bydd angen cael datgeliad boddhaol gan y Gwasanaeth Datgelu a Gwahardd (GDG).
