Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of a bespoke mechanical engineering company who manage the complete mechanical engineering process including design, manufacture and commissioning.
Operating over 35 years, they are a family owned organisation who have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service.
They have a client base which boasts some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. Mainly working within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries they provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation.
As the Mechanical Fitter, you will work on a range of pumps and associated equipment. This includes heating & chilled pumps, pressure boosting pumps, waste water pumps and pressurisation pumps.
This is a permanent position typically covering a 20 mile radius of Waterlooville, Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4pm. The salary is £40k – £45k per annum however, they may pay more for the right candidate. Perks include Van & Fuel Card, overtime, bonus, pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, training & development etc.
Responsibilities
* Service/maintenance and installation work.
* Carry out commissioning of new installations.
* Booster sets, pressurisation units, sewage and storm water stations.
* Pump overhaul and repairs to all major manufacturers’ units.
* Carrying out service work on storm water, booster sets, pressurisation units, pump.
* Overhauling, Installation and Commissioning of all the above.
* Workshop based repair and overhaul of pumps and pumping equipment.
* Customer liaison and dealing with client queries.
* Installation and commissioning of booster set, pressurisation and submersible pump package stations.
* To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
Skills & Attributes
* Water industry experience (preferred)
* General knowledge of pump and associated pumping equipment.
* Ideally looking for a mechanical biased candidate.
* Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
* An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
* Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
