Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. To provide admin support as required to the Cardiothoracic department
o You will have an active medical secretary role looking after at least 1 consultant
o Cross cover of medical secretary team within department to cover annual leave and sickness
o Line management of cardiothoracic admissions co-ordinator and support of this role to ANPs in their absence
2. To support lung cancer pathway 31/62 targets
o To regularly link with the cancer access team and provide weekly update to lung access meeting
o To support thoracic surgeons with 31/62 target management awareness
o To link with tertiary referral centre's (SWFT, GEH) in order to effectively manage the 31/62 referrals across the region and promote timely referrals and onward appointments within the department.
