Interim Head of Estates
My Client are after an experienced estates professional seeking an exciting leadership opportunity within the public sector. This senior role will look over all aspects of the Estates team and be a key part in the Council's Property team. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the authority’s extensive property portfolio. and be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, ensuring efficient management of assets, and leading a dedicated team to maintain and enhance the local authority’s estate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the estates function, including the strategic development and management of property assets.
* Oversee property disposals, acquisitions, and leases in line with the authority's goals.
* Provide expert advice on estates strategy, policy development, and operational management.
* Manage a team of estate professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and health & safety standards.
* Develop and implement sustainable property solutions that support the community and local government priorities.
What We Are Looking For:
* Significant experience in estates management, ideally within local authority.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and make strategic decisions.
* In-depth knowledge of property management, planning regulations, and public sector estates.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
* A relevant qualification in estates management or property-related field (RICS essential).
