Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Stores Operative to work with our team. The ideal candidate will work closely alongside the team on the shop floor, ensuring that stores are running smoothly and that materials and goods are handled, organised, and stored accurately. This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work effectively and in a timely manner within a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Kitting up job cards
2. Issuing materials
3. Booking in deliveries
4. Daily stock counts and inventory control
5. Support in dispatch
6. Completion of stock receipts and goods in processing in accordance with aircraft regulations
7. Ensuring parts are received in the correct condition and regulatory paperwork requirements are met
8. Ensure correct storage and distribution of all components, parts, materials
9. Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean and tidy
10. Ensuring the warehouse remains as efficient as possible
11. Conduct Daily, Weekly, and Monthly checks as requested/required
Desired Skills:
1. Knowledge of purchase orders
2. Basic IT Skills
3. Good organisation and communication skills
4. Previous stores experience
5. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
6. Ability to take initiative
Terms and Conditions of the Role:
Standard hours of work are 7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 12.00pm Friday (39 hours). Additional time may be required to meet the needs of the role.
The role is primarily based at the Farnborough site, with regular collaboration with other Sigma sites as well as customers and suppliers. Occasional travel is expected, and all travel and expenses will be paid in accordance with the expenses policy.
