Job summary Leamington Spa Primary Care Network are looking for an experienced clinical lead for our COVID spring booster vaccination campaign. THE ROLE IS TEMPORARY AND WILL RUN FROM 1ST APRIL 2025 FOR 3-4 WEEKS WITH HOURS THURS, FRI AND SAT 10AM-6PM. FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES MAY BE AVAILABLE TO SUITABLE CANDIDATES AT THE END OF THIS CAMPAIGN WITH THE PRIMARY CARE NETWORK. Our vaccination centre in conveniently located in the Ahmadiyya Centre on Adelaide Road, Leamington Spa with lots of car parking and a great working enviroment. The opening hours for the vaccination centre are 10am-6pm, Thursday-Saturday. The vaccination centre is well established and popular with our patient population. As an experienced clinical lead the post holder will lead our PCN team in delivering a safe and effective service for the delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for: Operational clinical lead for the COVID vaccination centre taking responsibility for the smooth running of the service during it's hours of operation. Close liaison with the network senior management team and daily reporting against service delivery targets. Troubleshooting and liaison with support services as required. Ensure clinical assessments are conducted according to national protocol. Oversee preparation of the vaccine prior to administration by the immunisers using aseptic technique and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials. Manage administration of the COVID-19 vaccination to patients. Computer literate and able to enter vaccination data into live clinical systems concurrent with vaccination. Undertake multiple roles such as: clinical assessment, dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials and additional clinical support where required. Enable the delivery of vaccinations to all eligible citizens by assisting with the overall coordination of the site activity and day to day delivery of the vaccination programme. Ensure clinic rooms and equipment are setup at the start of each session and tidied down at the end of the day. Clinical assessment: Conduct pre-vaccination clinical assessments to confirm if the patient meets the criteria for safe vaccination, including previous vaccinations undertaken, current health condition, assessment of any clinical conditions (medical history) and allergies. Complete the clinical triage and vaccine data entry digitally on Pinnacle Pharmoutcomes. Confidence in use of computers is essential. Ensure knowledge of conditions that affect suitability for vaccination and previous vaccination history. Address any potential adverse reaction risks and provide the citizen with information and advice on any adverse reactions and contra indications. Address any concerns that may arise regarding the vaccine and contra-indications with patients/citizens. Ensure the citizens understanding of the vaccination implications and get consent agreement on vaccination. Drawing-up: Ensure vaccine preparation (drawing-up, ensuring correct storage and providing pre-prepared syringes to the vaccination station) as per the standard operating procedure (SOP). Ensure the reconstruction of the vaccine as per manufacturers instructions. Perform a visual check of the vaccine type, serial number and thawing/expiry date. Assist with the configuration of the vaccination pod: pod setup, recording of required vaccine stocks and consumables, PPE and sanitisation materials.
