Job Details HOURS: 40 hours per week SHIFT: Monday - Friday // 0800 – 1630 Flexibility will be necessary to accommodate the needs of the business and ensure tasks are completed. This may occasionally involve working on weekends, though there is also the option to work from home on a limited basis. SALARY: £40k-£50k per annum Job Purpose Assist in managing and overseeing inventory levels while conducting cost analyses and addressing discrepancies. Establish and enforce robust internal controls, fostering collaboration with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless operations. Uphold compliance with accounting standards as a priority, supporting efficient and cost-effective inventory management critical to business success. Additional responsibilities include preparing monthly management accounts, reconciling balance sheets, and delivering comprehensive KPI reporting. Perform profit and loss analysis, stock reconciliations, and maintain detailed fixed asset registers. Liaise with auditors and undertake various ad-hoc financial tasks as required. Duties include: • Prepare monthly Management Accounts together with any associated reports. • Monitor and analyse production costs, material usage, and labour efficiency. • Develop and track Material Price and Usage Variance. • Identifies areas to reduce waste and optimize resource allocation. • Tracks and value inventory, ensuring alignment with financial records. • Minimizes holding costs while preventing production delays due to stock shortages. • Conduct stock audits periodically to reconcile physical inventory with records. • CAPEX Cost Tracking: Monitoring actuals spend against approved budgets and reporting on deviations. • CAPEX Project Milestone Tracking: Evaluating progress to ensure that projects are on schedule and within budget. • CAPEX Variance Analysis: Identifying and addressing deviations in costs or timelines to mitigate risks. • Maintain Fixed Asset register. • Ensure accurate processing of capex transaction, Additions, Disposals and Depreciation. • Reconcile all balance sheets accounts and clear any reconciling items. • Record journal entries for accruals, deferrals, and corrections (e.g., for outstanding invoices, prepaid expenses, or depreciation). • Ensure all income and expenses for the month are recorded in the correct accounts. • Review and Analyse ensuring that everything looks accurate and complete and address any discrepancies or unusual trends. • And any other reasonable request within the remit of this role. Skills include: • Preferably qualified with a recognised financial body (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) but will also consider part qualified working towards full qualification with a commitment to complete based on experience. • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role. • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is desirable, but not essential. • Working knowledge of Sage Intacct Accounts is desirable, but not essential. • Intermediate Excel skills (V lookups and pivot tables). • Have a high level of attention to detail. • Be able to work to deadlines and prioritise. • Be a team player with a positive can-do attitude. • Excellent organisational and time-management skills. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities. • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations. • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
