Hire Desk Controller
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000
An industry leading European supplier for railway electrification is looking to recruit a Hire Desk Controller to join their team.
Working on the plant hire desk you will be responsible for:
1. Administering and processing orders for hire, alongside processing the relevant paperwork and maintaining the database systems.
2. Liaising with the various teams to ensure information is accurate and up to date ready for hire.
3. Building effective customer relationships and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
4. Coordinating the whole process from order, data logging, supplying quotes, through to delivery and collection.
5. Preparing invoices for month end.
6. Working directly with other departments to ensure all projects get the equipment they require at the best price possible.
7. Dealing with cross hires and off hires.
8. Weekly reporting.
9. Ensuring relevant requisitions and paperwork are all in place and approved.
10. Associated administration and support activity to support the team and company.
Seeking someone with:
1. Minimum 12 months experience within an administration role and previous experience working within the hire industry.
2. Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
3. Willingness to learn and be involved in developing processes within the department and promoting best practice.
4. A proactive approach and consideration of new ways to provide service levels with the willingness and ability to accept changes.
5. Self-motivated with an ability to work independently.
6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to query anomalies in information.
7. Ability to adapt to using different databases to obtain information.
8. Ability to work well within a team but also confident to take responsibility for own workloads.
9. Ability to react to change at short notice and manage various workloads with varying deadlines.
10. Experience within a plant/small tools environment is desirable but not essential.
11. Strong organisational skills.
12. Strong communication skills both verbally & written.
13. Excellent Maths skills and Excel knowledge are essential.
14. Experience using Syrinx (database system) is desirable.
