Purpose of the role
Responsible for the safe operation of all Control and instrumentation related equipment on site, including to install, rebuild and repair electrical equipment as needed. Working with Plant Supervisor to ensure that all maintenance is carried out to the correct standard maintaining a safe operation, including all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed. To respond to breakdowns of the plant.
As an Instrument Technician you will be responsible for:
* Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, including your own personal safety by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures whilst complying with codes and legal regulations.
* Working closely within the operating area as you will provide support and guidance in the maintenance and general upkeep of plant’s control and instrumentation systems and peripheries for smooth and efficient operation.
* Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, and standards, which includes installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide support and guidance in the maintenance and general upkeep of plant’s control and instrumentation systems and peripheries for smooth and efficient operation.
* Rectification and logging of the cause for any malfunction of control and instruments systems or components as assigned through the FSI System.
* Periodically complete all routine planned preventative maintenance schedules and timely return plant or equipment to operation as per the FSI System.
* Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance through the FSI system.
* Routinely check completed jobs to ensure the systems remain safe and components are compatible as per the approved standards.
* Help to develop risk assessments in specialist areas that are within your expertise.
* Ensure activity is completed in line with all risk assessment and safe system of work.
* Complete the monthly and yearly calibration report to CMX database.
* Complete the breakdown and ppm task in FSI.
* Follow all instructions given from the site incident controller or the site main controller.
* Assist with the communication on site as requested by the site incident controller or the site main controller.
* Any other reasonable duty as identified by the C&I Management Team to satisfy business needs, within the role holder’s capability & with sufficient training.
* Work in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
* Ensure PPE is worn correctly and appropriately.
* Ensure work is always undertaken to the highest standard.
* Ensure compliance with all contractual employment obligations.
* Ensure compliance with our ISO standards.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times.
