About Us:
The Compleat Food Group holds several market leading positions in the supply of branded savoury pastry goods to the chilled retail
sector under our Wall’s, Pork Farms and Wrights brands. We are a leading supplier of savoury rolls, slices, pasties & scotch eggs
to all major retailers and the convenience & impulse channel. Our famous brands Wall’s and Pork Farms have doubled in size over
the past 3 years and are the fastest growing brands in chilled savoury pastry. This newly created role will be to support the
delivery of our brand development agenda for the Wrights brand.
The Wrights branded business is based from our dedicated bakeries in Crewe, Cheshire. Alongside a sizeable branded foodservice
business, Wrights operates 15 retail shops across the region, selling an assortment of savoury pastries, sandwiches and sweet
baked goods. We have also recently partnered with the largest independent forecourt operator in the UK, to open a chain of new
stores in forecourts across the UK. Our ambition is to create a nationally recognised brand of stores under ‘Wrights The Bakery’
brand.
The Role:
This role requires a keen and ambitious self-starter, with a good grounding in FMCG marketing and brand/product development
(ideally food). You will want to hit the ground running, have a real can-do attitude, a passion for food and be able to thrive
within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment to deliver results with great execution. Experience of the UK grocery/retail
market and/or QSR food operations will be advantageous, as will experience of working across the whole marketing mix, including
digital/social brand communications. We are looking for somebody with an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to work hard and
challenge the status quo.
What you will be doing:
As Brand Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of brand strategies that elevate brand
awareness, enhance customer loyalty, and support our ambitious growth targets. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional
teams to deliver initiatives that grow and nurture the brand, develop new product and range concepts, input into promotional
strategies and ensure that our brand message clearly resonates with consumers.
1. Brand Strategy Development:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives.
* Ensure consistency of branding, adherence to guidelines and brand tone of voice across all touch points.
* Analyse and understand market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activity to inform strategic brand choices and make
data-driven decisions.
2. Campaign Management:
* Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to support brand objectives, increase market share, and drive consumer
engagement.
* Manage budgets, timelines, and agency relationships to deliver high-quality campaigns on time and within budget.
* Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations to optimize future activities.
3. Product Development & Launch:
* Collaborate with product development and innovation teams to drive new product development (NPD) and existing product
development (EPD) initiatives aligned with consumer trends and brand positioning.
* Lead the go-to-market strategy for product launches, ensuring all marketing, pricing, promotion and sales materials are
cohesive and impactful.
* Track and evaluate product performance, intervening where necessary and gather insights for future product and brand
development.
4. Digital Marketing, Site Marketing & Social Media:
* Develop and execute the digital and social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement.
* Partner with digital teams to optimise brand presence online, including website, social media, and Third Party Delivery
Service (3PD) channels.
* Utilise digital analytics to measure and improve digital and social media initiatives.
* Align digital marketing agenda with in-store agenda to ensure a seamless shopping experience throughout the consumer
journey.
5. Consumer & Market Insights:
* Conduct market research and consumer insight studies to identify opportunities, understand brand perception, and refine
strategies.
* Monitor brand and business health metrics, sales data and category performance to assess brand performance and make
strategic adjustments as needed.
* Stay current on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive activity to inform brand positioning and product
development.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with Sales, R&D, and Operations to align on key initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and strategic
alignment.
* Build a good working relationship with Forecourt provider
* Collaborate with creative teams to produce effective and innovative advertising, packaging, and promotional materials.
* Provide brand guidelines and support to internal teams, ensuring brand consistency and alignment across all touchpoints.
7. Budget Management:
* Manage brand marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and maximum ROI on marketing spend.
* Provide regular financial reports and performance analysis
Who we are looking for:
* Education: Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years in brand management within the food industry, ideally within chilled or perishable goods.
* Strong track record of developing and implementing brand strategies and managing successful multi-channel marketing campaigns.
* Proficiency in digital marketing, social media strategy, and analytics tools.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
* Strong analytical skills with experience in consumer research, market analysis, and performance metrics.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership.
* Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques.
