We have a fantastic and interesting opportunity to join Santander as an IT Project Manager within our Corporate Digital team.
The Corporate Digital team is part of the overall Corporate CIO function and is responsible for delivery and application maintenance of the above digital platforms. Your role sits within this team and reports into the Head of Corporate Internet Services.
As an IT Project Manager, you will be a key interface working with the business sponsors and their delegates for the above Channels, liaising with Product Owners and Corporate Management teams within the International & Transaction Banking business.
The difference you'll make:
* Working collaboratively to provide innovative solutions catering to the business needs and taking into account the delivery priorities such as cost, time to market, and strategic drivers.
* Delivering IT projects that align and serve as the central point of coordination and accountability for all aspects of the project, including scope, timeline, budget, resources, and quality.
* Driving key strategic initiatives within the Corporate space, as well as managing an extensive portfolio of Product innovation, tracking Corporate assets remediation, and regulatory-driven change.
* Managing and tracking larger programs such as ITR (IT Remediation) for the whole of CCB.
* Managing approximately 5-10 consultants split between UK and offshore teams.
What you'll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
* Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, ideally in a Banking or Finance environment.
* Experience in eliciting and elaborating requirements and translation of these into Features or User Stories with clear acceptance criteria - and experience in managing and developing the skills required in a team to do the same.
* Experience in managing a mixed set of vendor partners and influencing across other technical teams, architects, and senior business heads.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, comfortable challenging constructively and influencing stakeholders across all divisions of Santander.
* Demonstrable experience of budgets, estimation, forecasting, tracking, and general management.
It would also be nice for you to have:
* An appreciation of technologies such as microfocus Cobol and DB2 based systems, but also a deep understanding of newer technologies using things such as Java-based developments, APIs, microservices, Open and Cloud-based technologies.
* Able to build rapport with project stakeholders and demonstrate influencing skills.
* People management experience, as you will be leading and developing a team of people.
* Project management certifications or equivalent.
What else you need to know:
