We are seeking to recruit an experienced Pharmacist to work in the Bucks Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder Service (ADHD) in Buckinghamshire. The service is located together within the Bucks Adult Autism Diagnostic and Intervention Service and Bucks Autism Reasonable Adjustments Team. You will be working with friendly, enthusiastic, supportive and skilled colleagues. This newly created post of an ADHD Independent Prescriber Pharmacist will support named Consultant Psychiatrists by managing a delegated caseload of service users with an established diagnosis of ADHD. You will be based at The Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury and possibly Saffron House in High Wycombe, with the potential for some remote working. This post would appeal to an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (mental health experience is certainly highly desirable, but not essential) who has an interest in service development and can work well in both a multidisciplinary team setting as well as autonomously. The post holder must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have strong clinical and consultation skills and be innovative and driven. The post holder must hold or be working towards current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Pharmacy and/or Psychiatric Therapeutics (up to diploma level) or equivalent experience and be a qualified Independent Prescriber. The post holder will support a named Consultant Psychiatrist and community adult Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) team by managing a delegated caseload of service users who have an established diagnosis and treatment plan for ADHD. The post holder will provide on-going appointments, prescribe and adjust medication as necessary and undertake all associated physical and mental health monitoring. The post holder will be joining a team of clinical lead pharmacists across the Trust and support the Chief Pharmacist in delivering the Trusts’ Medicines Optimisation Strategy with respect to adults with ADHD.
