Civil Engineer
Salary: up to £40,000
Location: Christchurch
Compensation: £25,000 to £40,000 per annum plus Pension, Parking, Profit Share, Private Healthcare, Professional Subs and Cycle to Work Scheme.
THE ROLE
Working with a talented team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers, our client is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated Civil Engineer to join their Christchurch Office.
The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of Civil Engineering projects including highway and drainage design for a variety of sites with particular experience of both private and public works, including sections agreements (S38, S278, S106 etc).
Working on a broad range of projects, this high performing team of professionals are looking for a diligent individual who can produce all relevant drawings for Civil Engineering projects. The projects are very diverse and generally challenging, incorporating bespoke new build, refurbishment and heritage works.

They are a well-established practice, operating since 1975. They have been providing high quality detailed technical design on projects UK wide. Their client base includes other professionals, such as architects, developers, fabricators and building owners. They specialise in Engineering Consultancy which demands solutions to complex and challenging schemes for a wide array of projects.
YOU WILL NEED
1. At least 8 years post qualification experience in Civil Engineering
2. Full UK driving license and own transport
CIVIL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience with the following would be highly desirable:
1. Providing high quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design.
2. Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications.
3. Carrying out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway car parking and footpath structural pavement designs for a range of permeable and non-permeable surfaces.
4. Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
5. Preparing S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority.
6. Preparing S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority.
7. Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports etc.
8. Management of sustainability criteria.
9. Complying with designers’ duties under the CDM Regulations.
ESSENTIAL
1. Confidence and ability with team and project management.
2. Ambitious, committed, and with integrity.
3. Good experience of drainage and highway design software (including MicroDrainage or Flow, and 3D civils).
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of own work and that of others working with you.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
6. Being proactive without supervision.
7. Client focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills.
