Enhanced Technician
Salary – £38,773 to £45,615 per annum (plus benefits)

The Enhanced Technician is responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of all operational staff, contractors and visitors at the Allington Energy from Waste Facility. Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, the Enhanced Technician will facilitate the day-to-day operational activities, operate plant from the Distributed Control System and carry out on-plant operational activities safely and efficiently in line with FCC Environment's procedures, whilst ensuring the facility is operationally compliant with the Environmental Permit.
The Enhanced Technician will support operational improvements to increase performance while liaising with the Maintenance, Cleaning, and 1/0 teams. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week; however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?
• Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with FCC Environment policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Operate the plant in a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient manner on a shift rotation basis. This includes waste handling, boiler furnace, steam systems, fans, pumps, Steam Turbine Generator, ash handling, water treatment processes, conveyors, filter systems, and valves, etc.
• Carry out work in accordance with FCC Environment's operational procedures and risk assessments. Administer FCC Environment Safe System of Work, coordination, and control of contractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with the Site Safety Rules.
• Carry out Safety Rules duties authorized up to an SAP 2 status.
• Take an active role in monitoring and improving operational H&S performance, including safety inspections, plant area responsibilities, and participation in routine H&S meetings and forums.
• Take a supportive role for operational improvements to increase performance while liaising with the shift Operations, Maintenance, Cleaning, and 1/0 teams. Develop, implement, and maintain the facilities' operational procedures and risk assessments.
• Coordinate plant maintenance activities, including removing plant from service, providing a safe system of work, and returning the plant to service.
• Support operational improvement processes, management of corrective actions, defect notifications, and rectification.
• Manage and control operational consumable materials.
• Take an active role in workplace investigations and operational root cause analysis activities. Support the preparation of technical incident reporting for plant trips.
• Support the development and implementation of operational strategies and recovery plans. Ensure operational compliance with internal and external standards.
• Support the management of company or specialist training, manage new employee competency, and support operational recruitment activities.
• Support the training and development of the shift team. Trained First Aider.
• Ability to operate large mobile plant and overhead cranes.
• During emergency situations, coordinate with emergency services and perform the duties of a Fire Marshall while under the direction of the Shift Manager.
• Ensure appropriate standards of housekeeping are maintained.
