Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the UK's bad debt charge, which accounts for c% of the total bad debt charge.
2. Work closely with the Director of Collections to design and deploy a strategy that is aligned with the company's risk appetite and growth aspirations.
3. Manage over 20 heads within the team, conducting 1-1's and monthly plans with staff.
4. Develop and enforce comprehensive collections and debt recovery policies.
5. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
6. Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in legislation and best practices.
7. Establish ethical guidelines for debt recovery practices, working with a panel of 3rd party suppliers (i.e., DCA, Legal partners).
8. Collaborate with the Head of Northern Europe & HO Ireland to ensure a best practice approach to policy and key processes.
9. Responsible for UK & Ireland Debt Recovery; ensure a seamless and fully optimized end-to-end debt strategy is in place.
10. Manage UK & Ireland 3rd party contracts and operational management of our external partners (legal & Debt Collection Agents).
11. Proactively manage the debt strategy, from point-of-sale procedures to applying a customer lens to reduce customers repetitively falling into arrears.
12. Ultimate ownership of the Collections ledger, ensuring collaboration with the financial operations team to remain within the bad debt charge budget.
13. Identify risks and issues impacting bad debt performance from daily activities in line with policy.
14. Suggest and implement policy, process, or procedural changes to mitigate risk and drive improvement that results in stronger financial results.
15. Deliver against agreed deadlines on projects.
16. Design and deploy a Corporate Account Management approach to our larger customers, working with internal Sales, Account Management, and Commercial teams.
