The Graphic Print Technical will be responsible for the day to day running of the Studio/Graphics aspect of the business, covering areas of printer comments and approvals, brand management, pre-production, and Reprographics & Quality, ensuring designs reach presses right first time from a pre-press perspective.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop relationships with current brands and new clients
* Work to high standards ensuring all files are technically acceptable to print correctly right first time
* Work alongside the UK Flexibles production team to ensure that production efficiency and print quality is maximised
* Attend Pre-artwork meetings / calls
* Attend the launch meetings
* Investigate QI’s/lifted jobs from a print technical and graphics perspective working with quality and production teams
* Communicate between the internal sales / production / customer service team and external customer base
* Maintain ColorCert/Exact
* Manage Customer Press passes
* Provide training for site – linking into the print academy
* Conduct departmental quality assurance, investigations and support of surrounding departments
* Address plate issues – working with Rivendell/Third Party Suppliers
* Manage Gravure/ITR
* Provide studio technical guidance
* Maintain Epson printer and consumables
* Ensure fingerprint standards are maintained and print consistency is upheld
Who you need to be:
* Clear understanding of Reprographics and Flexographic print
* In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator and Esko Suite Software (including Deskpack)
* Extensive technical understanding of all production processes and packaging applications
* Extensive knowledge of all current pre-press applications and processes
* Excellent project management skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Pro-active approach to all tasks undertaken
* Previous working experience of Adobe Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop) and Esko suite products
* Experience in working in a fast-paced packaging repro environment
* Excellent eye for colour and strong attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of all studio artwork, repro and pre-press processes
* Sound knowledge of print processes including flexo and gravure
* Ability to work quickly and efficiently, meet tight deadlines and work in a high-pressure environment
* Ability to prioritise work schedules
* Good communication skills
