Full, Part Time & Waking Nights Support Workers
£23,150.16 pro rata per year
Full time post are 37 – 40 hours per week
Part time posts are 30 hours per week
Waking Nights posts are an average of 35 hours per week**
Ark Buckie provide support to 19 supported people to live as independently in their own homes. Support ranges from 16 hours a week to 24 hour support – due to the nature of support we provide shift patterns are variable to meet the needs of the individual. We support a wide range of ages from 18 – 70+. Support varies based on the individuals needs and wishes – this could be personal care, medication and finances, meal preparation, support to appointments, household tasks or accessing the community.
Our supported people enjoy a wide variety of activities such as going out for lunch, bowling, trampolining, swimming, darts, football, snooker, spending time with their families and going on holidays. An increasing number of our supported people have mobility cars which widens opportunity for activities in the community. We always try to make goals happen for people this could be exploring courses to support people with employability or trying a new activity. Our supported people love to be part of the community and have been organising regular events such as discos and BBQs where they can invite their friends and family and everyone can get together.
Please note that this role includes Sleepover* shifts, 7am shift starts and 10pm shift finish times.
As this service supports people with complex needs all our Support Worker roles do involve personal care and giving medication in line with the Support Plan.
*A sleepover shift consists of working during the day, a rest period sleeping over in the service between 11pm - 7am and then working again the next day. Sleepover shift are typically 3pm - 3pm or 10am - 10am. The sleepover period is over and above your contracted hours and gets paid as an additional payment of £96.00 per sleepover.
**On waking nights you will work 3 nights on 3 nights off. One week you will work 40 hours Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday. The other week you will work 30 hours Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night.

• Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
