The Role
We are seeking an experienced Student Records, Data & Returns Officer to join our Student Records Team at Kingston University.
The role will have primary responsibility for the administration of student loan reconciliation for undergraduate and postgraduate students. This includes the maintenance of the database, scrutinising students’ attendance, withdrawals, transfers, suspensions, and academic history. This will also include the monitoring of students' maintenance payments and grants, as well as assisting with the processing of bursaries, ensuring they are released in a timely manner.
The role is also responsible for collating data from faculties to ensure teaching courses are set up on the Student Loan Company (SLC) database (Course Management Services) with accurate term dates and fees in line with the Admissions cycle.
In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of inclusivity, transparency, and mutual respect.
The Person
We are looking for a professional, friendly, self-motivated, and excellent team player. You will be working in an inclusive environment alongside a small but friendly team that supports one another through the day-to-day running of the Student Records office.
You will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a confident and proactive approach to your work. The ability to build good working relationships with colleagues across the university is essential, and listening effectively and responding sensitively to others is important. You will work closely with the Assistant Registrar (Student Records & Returns) and the Finance team.
Please note this is a hybrid role and you will be expected to work 60% of the working week on campus; please consider this when applying for the role.

Collectively, the Directorate supports academics in their research and KE activities and supports some of the University’s governance and decision-making committees, maintains academic regulations, develops and implements academic policies, oversees the quality and standards of academic provision, and leads the development of education practices across the University.
The Directorate is responsible for stimulating cutting-edge research, impact, and knowledge exchange, and supporting a vibrant community of graduate research students, to increase the volume, impact, and visibility of our research and business activities. We actively liaise with Faculties and researchers to support and develop research activities across all disciplines and provide related training and development opportunities. We foster interdisciplinary working to promote, advance, and share knowledge with the overall aim of securing new revenue sources and contributing to regional prosperity. Our goal is to foster and sustain a vibrant research culture in which our researchers and research students can flourish.
As a directorate, we identify opportunities for innovation, see change as an opportunity, value constructive feedback, and share good practice across the University.
