TheMechanical Team Lead will be responsible for Aircraft MechanicalProduction and Supervision within the Base and MRO environmentincluding aircraft scheduled maintenance and component maintenancewithin the workshops.
Theyare responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities areundertaken in accordance with all the requirements of theregulatory approval and the issued Statement of Work/Condition ofSupply to assure the output of airworthy aircraft andcomponents.
Theywill report to the Base Maintenance Manager and manage theprogramme at a tactical level ensuring that issues adverselyaffecting lead times are anticipated andreported.
Therole will involve supervision of a team of mechanical supervisors& technicians and the candidate will be able to evaluateand prioritise tasks to ensure production schedules areachieved.
CoreDuties
* Performanceindicators Ensure the effective management of Part 145activities by setting delivery targets monitoring progress anddeveloping performance improvement programmes. Prioritisesactivities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Representsthe Maintenance Manager at management reviews where necessary.Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impacton Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution orsponsoring escalation to management as appropriate.
* Completionof activities Ensure all Part 145 activities areappropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintainedon relevant systems (IT / paper based). Ensure all Part 145activities are performed by suitably qualified experienced andauthorised personnel. Ensure the integration of Part 145 activitywithin the business including the engagement of key stakeholders atall stages of the process. Provide support and guidance to theteam(s).
* Procedure/standardsManage the Part 145 team(s) compliance with the Part 145 Expositionits associated procedures and standards and any other Companyprocedures and standards as applicable. Identify propose andimplement change as required whilst ensuringcompliance.
* SafetyManagement System Promote the application of HumanFactors Error Management Risk Management and Safety Assurancewithin the Part 145 team(s) together with the proactive analysismitigation and management ofHazards.
* ManagementSystem Assurance Ensure Part 145 team(s) activities arecompliant with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework.Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits aresupported by Part 145 personnel and integrated within/across teams.Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriatemanner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generateand implement effective improvements within/across teams toovercome any noncompliance and monitoreffectiveness
* Statutory/ Regulatory & Legislative requirements Able todemonstrate a good understanding and application of the relevantContinuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework and ensure anyRegulatorydriven changes are implemented within the Part 145team(s) activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirementse.g. ITAR EaPW ISOetc.
* ContractualRequirements Ensure compliance with all applicablecontractual requirements e.g. through support to contract reviewsand ensure any changes are implemented into the Part 145 activitiesasappropriate.
Deliverables
* Maintainingairworthiness by ensuring that all contracted maintenance has beenproperly carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements asdefined within the Maintenance Organisation Exposition. Certifyingthe serviceability (or otherwise) of an aircraft component and theissue of appropriate certifying documentation.
* HoldComponent Certification Privileges as authorised by the On& Off a/c MaintenanceManager.
* Responsiblefor ensuring robust adherence to the Service Safety Hazard controlsrelating to the contributory causes to the output ofincorrectly/incompletely maintainedcomponents.
* Responsiblefor meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium termthrough the supervision of others. Progress reporting againstdelivery targets to senior management and internal/externalcustomers.
* Applyingthe relevant analytical skills for the tactical evaluation andresolution of operational problems utilizing the required competentpersonnel and the appropriate approveddata.
* Ensuringscheduled adherence of the Workshop(s) and the requirement toreport on any impact to the widerprogramme.
* Managingthe population of and adherence to the Component MaintenanceCapability List for the Workshops iawPROQ14992.
* Identifyingand managing with appropriate stakeholders all dependencies whichenable the successful completion of component maintenanceactivities.
* Manageshift and resource plans to ensure agreed delivery targets can beaccomplished within the requirements of the regulatory framework byensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for themaintenance tasks allocated to them (including ensuring sufficientcoverage of Support Staff withSupervisory
* Responsibilitiesand Component Certifying Staff) within the shiftplan.
Experience
* Experiencedand competent people manager and leader at this level.
* Requiresbroad and indepth product knowledge expert competence within owntechnical/subject area and an understanding of the relationshipwith interfacing/ contributory areas management of externaldependencies appropriate to therole.
* Athorough knowledge of maintenance activities conducted with the MRPPart 145 regulatory framework is required. An ability to makesafety/compliance versus delivery output decisions asappropriate.
* HawkT2/Mk167 type trained or ability to obtain thisqualification.

* 5years practical experience and expertise in the application ofaviation safety standards and safe operatingpractices.
* 2years relevant work experience within the aircraft maintenanceenvironment working at a supervisory level exercising certifyingprivileges.
* Demonstratingbreadth of experience currency & recency via a Log Book(electronic or paper) capturing skills knowledge and authoritiesfor working on Aircraft or inworkshop.
* Ideally6 months experience on type (in the last twoyears).
* Acomprehensive knowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandatedprocedures
* Managementtraining.

Qualifications Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideallyin Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeshipAcademic qualification for this role is a minimum of City &Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance orequivalent. Experienced and competent leader at this level.Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior toundertaking a Supervisor role. Demonstrating breadth of experience,currency & recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper) ofskills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type orin bays.
