Summary of role We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Ward Coordinator to join our Patient Support: Oncology Team. This role is based in our Head Office in Central London (NW1 4LJ). The London Clinic has a supportive and warm working culture where your contribution is valued, and you can help us deliver our three core values of “We go further”, “We work as one” and “We personalise care.” Job Profile The ward coordinator will take a lead role in providing administrative support to the Nursing Team to ensure they make the best use of time in the clinical area, ensuring the smooth running and efficiency of the ward whilst upholding the Philosophy of the Clinic and the unit. Job Type: This is a full-time, Bank position although we can consider part-time. Shift Pattern: 25 - 37.5 hours per week. Rota: Monday – Sunday between the hours of 7am and 8pm. Salary: £14.98 per hour. Location: The London Clinic Main Hospital Site - 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (walking distance from Regents Park and Baker Street tube stations). Key Duties Receive a brief handover from the Ward Manager/Nurse in charge at the beginning of the shift and stay updated throughout the day on any changes on the ward. Meet and greet patients arriving to the ward and explain room facilities. Prepare patient medical folders and related documentation prior to admission, including printing patient labels and ID bands on arrival. Ensure activity capture (charges) for patients is entered on their account for each item used. Make a note of any out of hours admissions on the ward and liaise with the Patient Liaison Team. Understand patient confidentiality and Data Protection with regards to medical records in accordance with the Clinic’s Data protection policies. Undertake filing as required, ensuring that all documentation in medical notes is included, signed and completed prior to discharge. Skills & Experience Experience as a Ward Coordinator/Receptionist in a similar hospital setting or a 4/5 hotel. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and a range of healthcare professionals. Strong sense of patient focus and delivering exceptional customer service in a hospital setting. Able to handle patient data confidentially and sensitively. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with good written and verbal communication skills and an excellent telephone manner.
