The Role: As a Networking, Server and Storage Consultant, you will sit within our Technical Pre-Sales function of Business Solutions and Services. Our client’s Networking, Server and Storage pillar is centred on supporting customers to meet the challenges of modernising their infrastructure bringing simplification and performance in a secure manner. You will understand customer challenges, at a strategic level and work with vendors, service partners and internal engineers to build end-to-end solutions that could encompass both on-premise infrastructure and cloud platforms. In addition to this, you will work alongside the wider team in helping customers define and execute against their on-premises, cloud, or hybrid strategy. You will maintain a detailed understanding of key vendor solutions and articulate the value at a technical level to customers. As a trusted advisor to new and existing customers, you will support them to meet the challenges of modernising and scaling their infrastructure to ensure optimal efficiency and performance in a secure manner. The following key aims are expected: Actively keep our client’s Networking, Server and Storage portfolio up-to-date in line with market demands and trends Assess, design and support to present end-to-end solutions to meet customer requirements of all sizes and non-industry specific Build upon your consultative skills to uncover and solve customer challenge Provide expert technical pre-sales support for opportunities involving servers and storage, with the ability to integrate into the conversation, at a general technical level, networking and cloud solutions Support Account Managers to deliver and hold strategic whiteboarding sessions with key customer stakeholders (virtual and F2F) Proactively look to convert basic Bill of Material (BoM) requests into a wider solution that encourages upsell and cross-sell opportunities Continuously learn and certify against key vendors such as HPE, DELL, VMWare and Veeam etc. - with a natural deeper level of knowledge in a specific solution area Maintain good understanding of the competitive landscape and complimenting solutions Create and maintain relationships with customers, vendors and surrounding service partners Proactively deliver product updates into Business Solutions and Services on key product information, incentives and general announcements that ensure we are maximising the profitability of a solution and providing accurate information into customers Job Requirements: 3 years’ experience in a similar role (i.e. Presales/consultant/engineer) Exposure to infrastructure services and legacy transitions Ambitious self-starter with a thirst for learning and knowledge Able to work independently and collaboratively Achievement orientated – enjoy a challenge and success Excellent problem solving skills Ability to successfully build relationships with colleagues, customers and vendors Strong organisational and administrative skills Certifications in Azure, core infrastructure and virtualisation would be advantageous
