We are currently seeking to employ a General Duties Assistant (Handyperson) to join our exceptional team, providing services to one of our prestigious clients based at RWE Ferrybridge.
This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 4:30pm and Fridays 07:30am to 1:00pm (37.5 hrs) at an annual salary of between £25,000 and £27,000 depending on experience.
The job may require the post holder to work reasonable overtime on request, some of which may be at short notice due to the nature of our work.
You will assist the site technical team in the undertaking of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works as assigned by the site Facilities Manager, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and to support the site with general site activities included but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fabric requests within the capabilities and skill set of the post holder to maintain the client's site in line with contractual requirements and the local site improvement plan.
Your responsibilities will also include:
* To undertake PPM works in line with SFG 20 and ACOPs as delegated by the Helpdesk or line manager/Site supervisor.
* To respond to reactive work requests promptly in line with agreed KPI response times.
* To be responsible for site preparation, including clearing the work area of debris and obstruction and setting up temporary fencing and barriers.
* Operating basic machinery such as forklifts, mechanical aerial platforms/access equipment/telescopic booms/scissors where trained and competent to do so, and assist in the setup and takedown of access equipment; zip up scaffolding following training and under supervision.
* Assisting Skilled Trades (site operatives, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled workers) with their tasks and prepare and provide tools and materials as needed.
Suitable applicants will have:
* Experience in basic handyman tasks.
* IT skills to include the use of handheld devices.
* Flexibility to meet the needs of the business & willingness to take part in standby/call out rota if required.

* A team player with the ability to also work independently under instruction.
* An excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
