We are a vibrant and inclusive school located in Burnley, dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to our students. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
2. Work closely with classroom teachers to implement individual education plans and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
3. Assist students in accessing the national curriculum and completing assigned tasks.
4. Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting positive behavior and social skills development.
5. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students.
Requirements:
6. A relevant qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
7. Proven experience working with SEND/SEMH children in a school environment, preferably with knowledge of the national curriculum.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
9. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional needs of children.
10. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
11. Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
