Our Client are a leading communications brand with an outstanding reputation for customer service and value commitment. An opportunity has now arisen within their team for an experienced IP Network Technician. In this role you will be responsible for the engineering provision, development, management, and maintenance of the company's IP & MPLS networks, Corporate LAN, broadband RADIUS & BNGs, DDoS protection and related systems and platforms. Specific duties for the IP Network Technician will include: Operate, maintain and manage IP & MPLS networks, Corporate LAN, Broadband BNGs Operate, maintain and manage broadband RADIUS platform, DDoS protection systems Operate, maintain and manage network monitoring platform, IP/SIP/MPLS product offerings Assist Service Design in the planning, testing and implementation of enhancements and new technologies for IP & MPLS networks Implement and evaluate IP & MPLS related solutions and technologies Liaise with Product Management, Service Management and other internal teams as required Take a fully active role in the standby and call out scheme with a contractual obligation to provide call out cover, as part of a rota basis, once at a qualified level Work off-Island when required to do so Undertake supervision and coordination of consultants, suppliers and sub-contractors working on networks/systems that the team have responsibility for Attain and maintain at least one relevant technical associate network qualification. For example:Juniper - JNCIA or Cisco CCNA The ideal candidate for the role of IP Network Technician will have: Basic knowledge of network fundamentals, including IP addressing and subnetting Willingness to gain an acceptable operational knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routing & switching estate Good level of competency with computer-based systems and ability/willingness to learn new systems Strong analytical, problem-solving, & troubleshooting skills Highly motivated individual, well organised and methodical Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff at all levels Desire to learn new technologies through both formal and self-learning and ability to adapt to an ever-changing technical environment Hold a full driving licence Highly Desirable: Understanding of IP networks, routers and switches and system security Appreciation of the telecommunications/IT market and customers
