Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Organisational
1. Undertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems, both investigation and rectification across a 24/7 roster
2. Produce high quality reporting in relation to all manner of anomalies, both at system and component level, within the business Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
3. Understand reports, recommendations and investigations that may impact the safe and cost effective operation to both Stadler and its stakeholders
4. Produce quality non-technical and technical reports relating to both production and technical performance utilizing various analytical methods.
5. Provide coaching and guidance to other people within the business
6. If required provide mentoring to identified individuals
7. Provide off-site support, across the network
8. Where required undertake component replacement
9. Understand and interpret legislation and standards relating to people & product health and safety, production, technical and general transport matter
10. Demonstrate a passion for continual improvement, self-improvement, system & process improvements, operational excellence and end user experience
11. If required represent function/project in relation to best practice
12. Undertake or support any activity that capabilities permit
13. Manage train handover and handback with operator
14. Support all parts of the business

What are we looking for?
Essential
1. Proven experience in a large engineering environment with a focus on technical, through-life support.
2. Proven experience of supporting a production team, ideally as a Maintenance Technician 2
3. Knowledge of proactive and preventative maintenance activities with a large multi-disciplined transport fleet
4. Experience in an operational transport and production environment
5. Knowledge and experience in modern technical systems and fault finding techniques.
6. Knowledge and experience in conducting and professionally documenting findings to a minimum of cause level in both technical and non-technical investigations.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and understanding of the railway system
2. Knowledge, experience and understanding of risk and safety in the workplace, within a transport environment and from a production perspective
3. Clear understanding of the principles of technical systems and techniques and the interaction between these systems
4. Served a recognised craft or technical apprenticeship in an appropriate subject matter (desirable)
5. Ideally qualified to/working towards HNC or equivalent standard in an appropriate subject matter including diverse evidence route

We currently hold x3 Technician 1 vacancies, working in the Production department, reporting into the Production Manager. The role will involve specialist skills of a technical nature covering all main train systems, including the train Safety Management System, high and low voltage systems, TCMS and propulsion systems. The role will be on a 24-month fixed term basis.
