The role
We have exciting opportunities for a Utility Arborist to join our in-house vegetation management team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transmission lines and supporting our journey towards a sustainable, Net-Zero future.
You will
1. Be involved in all aspects of vegetation management around our overhead and underground networks, as well as substations and other transmission assets, to ensure utility arboriculture work is completed within a geographical area.
2. Work within a highly skilled team responsible for managing trees & vegetation near the transmission network as part of our vegetation management maintenance and resilience programs.
3. Understand the relevant industry legislation and safety guidelines associated with arboriculture work near power lines.
4. Carry out requested works safely, efficiently, and effectively to meet delivery targets with your team.
5. Collaborate with internal and external tree cutting teams to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
You have
1. Experience in tree cutting, forestry, or arboriculture, with relevant NPTC certificate units for chainsaw use; a qualification or certificates including NPTC UA would be a bonus but are not essential.
2. Experience working with power lines and tree climbing would be highly advantageous.
3. Enthusiasm and drive, with a flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
4. A high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in all tasks.
5. Good communication and customer relationship skills, with a commitment to providing high-level service at all times.
6. Note: It is an essential requirement for this role to have a full, current driving license due to the rural nature of the role, and occasional work away from home is expected.
