Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students with various needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and physical disabilities. Key Responsibilities: Support Learning: Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet the individual needs of students. Facilitate Inclusion: Promote an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported. Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour strategies and support students in managing their emotions and interactions with peers. Monitor Progress: Help assess students' progress and maintain records to support individual learning goals. Provide Personal Care: Assist with personal care and mobility needs where necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of students. Collaborate with Staff: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents. Professional Development: Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to SEN. Qualifications and Skills: Experience working with children with special educational needs (preferably in a school setting). A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young people. Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team. Knowledge of relevant policies and legislation related to SEN.
