Heatherwood Court are looking to recruit a band 6 Occupational Therapist with an interest in working in forensic mental health. The OT service is well established within the MDT and service provision includes community and in hospital sessions. The team have access to The Hub and Recovery College that offers a wide range of psychologically informed groups and creative arts.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide an effective occupational therapy service at Heatherwood Court that is client centred, evidence based and meets the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the clients.
2. To manage all service resources effectively.
3. To take responsibility in planning and developing an Occupational Therapy service with a range of adults with both psychiatric and physical needs.
4. To provide Clinical related Occupational Therapy intervention guided by the clients specific needs.
5. To develop and implement treatment programmes either in groups or to individuals in close liaison with other disciplines involved in the clients care, having emphasis on multi-disciplinary teamwork.
6. To demonstrate best practice interventions within specialist area.
7. Regularly monitor and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service within Heatherwood Court.
8. To be involved when appropriate in the assessment of aids/ adaptations to enable the client to improve/ maintain own level of functional daily living skills.
9. Practice in accordance with legislation according to your clinical area.
10. Ensure that all service users within Heatherwood Court have a comprehensive assessment that assists in the planning of their programme based on clients needs.
11. Evaluate and modify interventions using appropriate outcome measures.
