About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker – Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and committed individual to play a crucial role in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake Mental Health Act assessments and make informed decisions regarding detention or alternative support options.
2. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including health professionals, community services, and emergency responders.
3. Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to colleagues on mental health matters.
4. Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), the Care Act 2014, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
5. Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health policies and best practices.
6. Manage complex cases, ensuring service users and their families receive appropriate support.
7. Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory requirements and local policies.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
2. Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.
3. Significant experience in mental health social work and carrying out Mental Health Act assessments.
4. Strong understanding of mental health legislation, policy, and best practices.
5. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make complex decisions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
