We are seeking a Payment Processing Specialist to join our client, a rapidly growing payments fintech based in London. This dynamic, hands-on role involves managing payment operations, optimising workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating fraud risks, and fostering partnerships with banks and payment providers. Role Overview Location: London-based, full-time for the initial 6 months, transitioning to a hybrid model (primarily office-based). Key Responsibilities Process payments across systems (SEPA, SWIFT, FPS), reconcile transactions, and ensure accuracy. Maintain compliance with FCA, PSD2, AML, and KYC regulations, supporting audit processes. Collaborate with IT teams to enhance payment systems and resolve technical issues. Proactively detect and prevent fraud, monitoring risks and implementing mitigations. Establish and manage relationships with banks and payment providers; negotiate contracts. Handle escalated customer payment issues and ensure resolution. Generate detailed payment reports and provide actionable insights for process improvement. Candidate Requirements Proven experience in payment operations within fintech or a payment institution. In-depth understanding of UK/EU payment systems and FCA regulatory frameworks.
