We are recruiting a European Road Freight Coordinator for our Sough based client. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination, management and profitability of the European transport operations. Salary up to £28,000.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for managing the export/import processes for road freight shipments.
2. Planning and coordinating transport routes and daily schedules for Europe for the fleet, ensuring that the transportation is cost efficient and profitable.
3. Ensuring effective management in arranging customer collections, packing services and deliveries.
4. Working with customers and office staff, planning routes and scheduling delivery times, coordinating the drivers, agency drivers and vehicles for work.
5. Coordinating with customs for clearance and managing customs entry exceptions.
6. Managing EU airfreight (i.e., DHL) and EU road courier shipment.
7. Discussing and resolving client/supplier problems and complaints.
8. Quoting and coordinating both domestic and international shipments.
9. Preparing operational reports detailing all work done and comprehensive record keeping, including on our freight management system.
10. Preparing and processing all documentation and the booking of the chosen method of transportation.
11. Efficiently handling paperwork including bills of lading, labelling, timesheets and detailed condition reports with photos, customs clearance and advising the customer of any required payments due.
Key Attributes:
1. Proven track record and knowledge of domestic and European transport operations and planning.
2. Good knowledge of current EU transport legislation.
3. Good geographical knowledge.
4. In-depth knowledge of current EU customs procedures and paperwork requirements.
5. Experience of dealing with high-end clients and goods.
6. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
