Job Description Roseville Contracts Ltd are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to work within a busy buying department, reporting direct to the Senior Buyer. The role would suit a dynamic and driven candidate who is looking to succeed within a well-established company. Company Roseville Contracts Ltd are a Midlands based drylining contractor specialising in Dry Lining, Partitioning, Suspended Ceilings, Plastering, Steel Framing Systems (SFS), Screeding and Rendering. Our current live projects and healthy forward order book consist of a wide range of contracts from £20k - £10m, gaining repeat business in a range of sectors with various main contractors and national developers. The Role and Responsibilities · Placing of material orders with suppliers and distributors. · Consulting with contracts managers with regards to delivery dates and material delivery schedules. · Assisting the commercial department with obtaining material prices for both tenders and live contracts. · Meeting with suppliers to discuss future projects and negotiate pricing terms. · Recording the movement of stock through our internal transfer process. · Uploading material purchase orders to internal cost reporting system. · Producing project material cost reports from internal cost reporting system. · Resolving invoice queries with accounts department. · Assistance with incoming deliveries into store. · Reporting direct to senior buyer. Relevant Skills Required · Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within an office environment preferred. · Knowledge of construction industry, especially Drylining/ Interiors sector preferred, but not essential. · Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with MS Excel and Outlook. · Knowledge of accounting (Sage) and cost reporting systems (Eque 2) preferred. · Excellent negotiating skills. · The ability to problem solve and react to problems immediately. · Ability to communicate effectively both inside and outside of the business. · Excellent organisation skills. · A positive and initiative-taking attitude. · Meticulous attention to detail. · The ability to work solo in the department once fully trained, to cover holiday periods. · The ability to thrive under pressure in a demanding environment.
