We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a progressive and supportive team within a well-established practice in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The Practice:
* An established and well-equipped independent veterinary practice in Swindon is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join its team. Operating across three independent sites, including a newly opened gold-standard cat-only clinic, this practice offers a supportive environment with an emphasis on clinical excellence, professional development, and in-house case management with minimal need for external referrals.
* With a team of 38 staff, including 17 veterinary nurses, the practice fosters an open culture that encourages continuous learning and career growth. As a teaching practice, it provides excellent mentorship and support, making it an ideal setting for vets looking to refine their skills and develop a special interest.
Hours: Full-time, 4-day week (8:45 am – 6:30 pm) plus 1 in 5 Saturdays (9 am – 12 pm)
Additional Rota: 1 in 5 for hospitalised patient care; out-of-hours emergencies covered by Vets Now
Role Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the clinical team when senior vets are unavailable.
* Confidently handle most routine surgical cases.
* Develop a specialized area of interest within the practice.
* Provide excellent client care and communication.
* Support and mentor other members of the veterinary team.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in practice.
* Strong ability to manage chronic disease cases.
* Further qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Ability to mentor and coach colleagues.
* Interest in obtaining a surgical or medical certificate (encouraged and supported).

Salary: Starting at £52,000 per annum (reflective of skills and experience)
