As a Repair Team Leader you will be directly responsible for all operational activities in the Repair Manufacturing Team.
What you'll be doing:
* Accountability for the operation of the repair manufacturing team and resources including all employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, health and safety and the environment.
* Responsibility for achieving the agreed targets of the manufacturing plan for repair.
* Responsibility to prioritise, plan and administer repair team activities and allocate tasks / duties to repair team members to ensure that plans are met, and performance meets agreed targets.
* Responsibility for the production of repair product structures, routings and shop orders together with the relevant manufacturing documentation.
* Responsibility for ensuring that booking of time in the repair manufacturing area is as efficient as possible.
* Responsibility to control work-in-progress whilst developing and maintaining customer relationships.
* Participate in bearing failure analysis with the Customer Support Manager and Customer Support Sales Engineer.
* Responsibility for inspection of customer property upon receipt and subsequently producing survey reports to meet individual customer requirements.
* Responsibility to liaise with the new bearing manufacturing team to obtain support as required.
* Responsibility to ensure material stock, plant and equipment are adequately maintained to meet the repair business needs.
* Responsibility for 6S / housekeeping standards in the repair manufacturing area.
* Assist in the Customer Support Sales Engineer, Repair enquiry and tendering process as required.
* Assist in the development and operation of a repair capacity planning system to ensure accurate product costs and lead times are maintained.
* Ensure that adequate training and flexible resources are available to achieve the agreed repair targets and objectives.
Who we're looking for:
If you have a solid understanding of machine tools, production processes, and hydrodynamic bearing repair procedures, along with a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment and support colleagues both within the immediate and broader team, we’d love to hear from you.
Be able to liaise with business customers and communicate effectively, demonstrate a keen eye for attention to detail and be able to deal with multiple enquiries and contracts at the same time.
You must also have a solid understanding of Health and Safety and COSSH requirements as well as proficiency in general IT packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of rotating machinery applications in industrial and marine markets, along with an understanding of hydrodynamic bearing technology and failure modes, is desirable, as is experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
You must also hold a recognised mechanical engineering qualification (ideally HNC or above) and hold a UK driving licence.
Working hours are 37 per week.
