An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join the North & West Primary Care Network providing day-to-day management for our expanding team.
N&W has an excellent network team working across 5 GP practices in rural and market town communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Operations Manager to help us build on this success for the next phase of PCN development.
The Operations Manager will assist the PCN Development Manager with the implementation and development of roles, ensuring they meet the needs of the PCN and are fully embedded within network teams. This includes supporting roles employed through the additional roles reimbursement scheme (ARRS) and other PCN funded schemes.
The post holder will support the leadership team with managing specific projects and the achievement of contract targets. They will play a vital role in developing new and innovative service provision focused on population health management.
The role is for 37.5 hours per week, however a job share will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The Operations Manager will be responsible for:
* Developing robust operational plans to implement directives agreed by the PCN Practices with the Development Manager and Clinical Directors
* Overseeing and managing PCN staff, ensuring that services are delivered according to SLAs and/or job descriptions and operational plans
* Implementing and maintaining PCN services supporting delivery of network contracts and performance targets including: PCN DES specifications, Impact & Investment Fund (IIF) targets, Enhanced Services, and local contracts.

Job Purpose
The N&W Operations Manager will be responsible for and provide operational management to roles employed through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and PCN funded schemes.
The post holder will support the Clinical Director and PCN Development Manager with managing the implementation of identified projects, supporting achievement of contractual targets and PCN contracts.
The post holder will ensure that the additional roles team are fully embedded within PCN teams, providing high quality patient care. They will ensure that the additional roles team are set objectives and KPIs which align to the PCNs vision, priorities and requirements of the contracts, and this process is undertaken in co-production with the practices, keeping all stakeholders updated.
The post holder will work with the PCN team to identify opportunities for new and innovative service developments and lead on them in accordance with national strategy and emerging knowledge and techniques.
Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge and experience of working in primary or secondary care
* Understanding of the health care system in relation to commissioners
* Leadership and management experience working in the health and care system
* Monitoring individuals and teams
* Converting strategy into practical delivery
* Project management
* Primary Care IT experience to support contract delivery
Qualifications
* Educated to level 4 or above in certificate of higher education (CertHE), higher apprenticeship, higher national certificate (HNC), Level 4 diploma/NVQ; or equivalent experience.
* Degree or similar qualification or sufficient relevant experience at an equivalent level to the role.
Skills
* Build strong personal relationships and have effective formal and informal networks

* Ability to manage and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
* Good level of accuracy and attention to detail
Other Requirements
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
