Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)/ Security Specialist Seeking a team-oriented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)/ Security Specialist to be embedded with Govt Customer security team at Naval Station Norfolk. The candidate supports both collateral level security programs and special access programs, for Government (GS/Mil) and contractor staff. They also develop security plans, procedures, and instructions; enhances the ongoing security awareness and education program; maintains excellent working relationships with government agencies; and assures compliance with all government and company security regulations. Requirements: Direct relevant experience in a field related to security or information systems desired Ability to obtain and maintain an active Top-Secret security clearance Experience at a contractor organization conducting special access and industrial security operations for the U.S. DoD. Responsibilities: Oversees day-to-day security execution of all security operations. Performs personnel clearance processing to include nominations, tracking, indoctrinations, reporting, debriefs; daily use of personnel clearance data systems (DISS, NISS, NCAISS, NBIS, e-APP, SWFT, etc.) Guides employees in the use of e-APP and fingerprints Conducts inspections and audits Creates and updates security plans, procedures, and instructions Enhances and participates in active security awareness and education programs The AFSO may assist the Command Department(s) as needed or assigned Experience/Education: Prefer two or more years of experience as a Security Specialist to include: Personnel Clearances in the NISP DISS Virtual Training NISP Reporting Requirements Visits and Meetings in the NISP Working knowledge of the NISPOM, ICDs, and associated Executive Orders Significant experience with the DISS system Experience with the NISS and NCAISS systems Knowledge of OPSEC procedures and application of OPSEC to Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information Proficient in Microsoft applications and Adobe Acrobat DC Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
