Role profile:
Joining a purchasing and supply chain team of 10, at a developer and manufacturer of established pharmaceutical products, based in Bedfordshire, this is an excellent opportunity to use your supplier relation skills and ability to influence and negotiate.
Scope of the role:
* Maintenance of a robust supply chain for specific raw materials, optimise stock level, meet deadlines for production planning and ensure minimal supply risk.
* Manage an accurate ERP system, adding in new item codes as required.
* Support a variety of teams with resolution of quality and service issues.
* Taking accountability for purchase of raw materials through analysis of requirements, MRP results and commercial factors
* Be in regular communication with raw material suppliers (on and off site) to discuss service levels, ensure satisfactory resolutions and craft successful ongoing relations.
* Work closely with Raw Materials Procurement Manager to oversee purchase order quantities, delivery schedules, pricing negotiation and lead times.
* Risk assessments for incoming raw materials, report failures and suggest counter measure, and monitor supplier performance.
* Assist QA team in preparation for supplier audits.
* Provide support with monthly and ad hoc reporting that will inform next steps in procurement, planning and buying activities.
* Document control of all raw materials, ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Approve raw material invoices, resolve queries and progress pricing requests.
Your background:
* Demonstrable experience in buying and/or planning for raw materials within the pharmaceuticals or the food sector.
* Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
* Sound working knowledge or ERP and MRP systems.
* Adept in use of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases.
* Excellent team ethos, with good collaboration skills and a supportive nature.
