Your Role
As an Assistant Director of Studies, you will have the chance to make a significant impact in our Brighton campus, working alongside the Director of Studies (DoS) in all aspects of the running, management and quality assurance of the academic department.
We are looking for a detail orientated leader who will relish the challenge of being involved in EF’s ongoing academic developments, and enjoy being part of the continual professional development of the teaching team (through training and observation). You will be responsible for ensuring academic excellence throughout the school, and be an advocate of the thought that learning is not only about the details but about the overall experience in and outside the lessons.
Responsibilities
1. Deputise for the DOS in case oftheir absence
2. Cover classes for teachers in case of their absence
3. Assist in the recruitmentand development of teaching staff
4. Ensure appropriate timetabling of students, teachers, courses and classrooms
5. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards
6. Ensure compliance with the school attendance policy
7. Assist students with their enquiries and help solve any problems as required
8. Maintain academic resources for students and teachers
9. Administer tests and disseminate results and certificates
10. Contribute to creativity and innovation within the department
11. Assist the Director of Studies in other academic matters as requested
The ideal Assistant Director of Studies
12. Has a DELTA qualification (or currently studying) / an equivalent undergraduate degree
13. Has the ability to effectively lead and motivate
14. Has a passion for excellent customer service standards
15. Is committed to the highest standards of teaching within our classes
16. Is a strategic thinker and planner
17. Can prioritise multiple tasks
18. Is resourceful and able to handle difficult situations with ease
19. Has an acute attention to detail
20. Has a strong sense of ownership and the drive to succeed
21. Right to work in the UK
22. At least C2 level of English
