OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
MUFG Securities EMEA is the broker-dealer subsidiary of MUFG in London. MUS(EMEA) Treasury is responsible for managing the funding, liquidity and capital of entity which is PRA regulated as a Designated Investment Firm.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Treasury, this role supports the capital and liquidity planning function of Treasury, specifically focused on assisting in the writing of the ILAAP and ICAAP and supporting other initiatives including working with the Front Office to support capital and liquidity optimisation.
The role will also be dual-hatted to support MUFG Bank London Branch although the primary focus will be on the MUS(EMEA) entity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Capital Planning
1. Monitor and manage the capital risk profile in line with the firm’s capital risk appetite.
2. Lead in the coordination of the Individual Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and production of the document.
3. Advise the business regarding capital treatment and usage of existing and proposed trading and structures.
4. Seek opportunities to optimise capital usage (both RWA and leverage ratio).
5. Assist in developing the firm’s capital plan and associated business unit capital allocations.
6. Develop policies and procedures to ensure capital risk management meets regulatory requirements and industry level standards.
Liquidity Planning
1. Monitor and manage the liquidity risk profile in line with the firm’s liquidity risk appetite.
2. Develop internal MI tools to monitor and manage compliance with KRIs (LCR, NSFR, PRA110, ALMM).
3. Assist in the writing of the firm’s Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP) document.
4. Ongoing monitoring of the Firm’s funding and liquidity risk profile, working closely with Front Office business units (especially secured financing businesses) to understand and advise them on their liquidity and funding risks.
5. Develop policies and procedures to ensure liquidity risk management meets regulatory requirements and industry level standards.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential:
1. Several years’ experience of regulatory capital and/or liquidity management in a financial firm.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
Essential:
1. Knowledge of PRA regulatory environment.
2. Willingness to study for relevant professional qualifications.
Preferred:
1. Experience in writing ILAAP or ICAAP document.
