A primary school in Oldbury is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with autism and hyperactivity. This long-term role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s learning journey. Role and Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with additional needs, specifically autism and hyperactivity. Ensure the pupil stays on task and completes planned work in line with their educational needs. Manage the pupil's hyperactivity with patience, understanding, and effective strategies. Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child’s learning goals are met. Requirements: Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject. Experience working with young children with special needs, particularly autism. Ability to build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil. Strong communication and organisational skills.
