Internal Audit Assistant Leeds – hybrid Permanent Summ ar y We are seeking a dilige nt and detail-oriented Internal Audit Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the internal audit function by assisting in the p lanning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within the field of internal auditing. Some of the key deliverables for the role will include: Assist in the planning and execution of internal audit engagements. Conduct preliminary assessments of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. Gather and analyse data to identify potential areas of risk and improvement. Prepare working papers and document audit findings in accordance with established standards. Support the preparation of audit reports, including drafting sections of the report and compiling supporting documentation. Collaborate with team members and management to develop and implement corrective action plans. Monitor the progress of audit recommendations and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions. Stay informed about industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks. What we’re looking for: Working towards a professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIA is preferred. Proven work experience (ideally within Audit), preferably within the engineering or construction industry. Basic understanding of UK regulatory requirements and industry standards. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills. A bility to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
