A leading contractor in the water sector is seeking a Proposals Engineer to join their pre-construction team, supporting a key framework with Thames Water. The Role:
Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and develop effective technical and commercial proposals.
Lead multidisciplinary teams to create solutions that balance affordability, sustainability, and technical performance.
Manage proposals from early contractor involvement (ECI) through to contract agreement.
Oversee risk assessments, ensuring project scope, cost, and timelines are well-defined.
Coordinate with engineering, estimating, operations, and SHEQ teams to ensure proposals are robust and deliverable.
Support contract negotiations, ensuring agreements meet business requirements and risk profiles.
Capture lessons learned from completed projects to improve future proposals and team performance.
What We're Looking For:
A degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Process) or equivalent qualifications.
Experience managing projects under NEC4 contract conditions.
Strong background in the UK water industry, with experience in water/wastewater treatment or bioresources projects.
Knowledge of water sector processes, equipment, and services.
Experience developing project programmes and managing risk.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Full UK driving licence (desirable).
