Job Summary
The successful candidate will offer high quality day-to-day care of patients and deliver a first-class clinical service to include outpatient/diagnostic clinics, day case theatre procedures, elective theatre activity, in-patient care as required and support for on-call work with acute urological admissions.
Main Duties of the Job
The appointed fellows will provide senior surgical input to emergency general surgery patients at all stages from initial triage and assessment to surgery and post-operative care. Duties include on-call at middle-grade level with access to emergency theatre if the fellow is on call or assessment/admission of emergencies in A&E, surgical assessment unit/SCDU when on normal duties.
The successful candidates will be able to rotate between Upper GI and Lower GI with dedicated MDTS. We are the 4th largest colorectal cancer resection unit in the UK.
The role will predominantly include ward cover across the Department. There will also be potential for involvement with in-patient and day case operating sessions with general surgery and Urology at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. The successful candidate will also have exposure to outpatient clinics and outpatient diagnostic testing.

Qualifications
* Eligible for full GMC registration with Licence to Practise at the time of appointment.
* MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Satisfactory completion of F1 training, or equivalent.
