Our incredible team is a blend of passionate staff and volunteers who champion diversity, inclusivity, and understanding. We hail from diverse walks of life, forming a vibrant community of change-makers. Our ultimate goal? To amplify awareness of LGBTQ+ matters and advocate for the rights that ensure equal lives for all.
With a diverse and dedicated year-round team of around 150 volunteers, we orchestrate Pride in London, the incredible event that unites us all. Your unique voice can contribute to the symphony!

Role Overview:
The Director of Communications role is pivotal, skillfully transmitting our message across diverse media channels, encompassing press releases, digital campaigns, print materials, social media, audio, and video. This role ensures the genuine representation of every facet of the LGBTQ+ community's voice, amplifying it effectively. Our mission revolves around leveraging our platform to drive substantial change.
As Director, you will actively shape and deliver our strategic communications plan while providing hands-on leadership to guide and nurture a dedicated volunteer team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop comprehensive strategic communications plans focused on long-term goals, maintaining editorial control over content accuracy, tone, and consistency.
2. Lead crisis communication strategies, preparing statements and briefings for media and stakeholders.
3. Proactively manage media relations to enhance our reputation and boost visibility locally, nationally, and internationally.
4. Serve as spokesperson, engaging with journalists on high-profile and sensitive matters.
5. Monitor and analyse media coverage to inform strategic decision-making.
6. Direct Public Affairs, Social Media, and Web Development teams to ensure aligned communication strategy.
7. Collaborate across internal teams to maintain consistent messaging.
8. Drive creative and innovative communication initiatives to engage diverse audiences.
9. Foster relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and influencers.

2. Strong crisis management skills with ability to draft and present statements under pressure.
3. Proven media relations experience, particularly with high-profile engagements.
