Job Title: Lecturer – Animal Welfare and Management Location: Northampton Hours: Sessional (Weekend and evening working may be required when business needs demand) Salary: £21.87 - £26.88 per hour (Excluding holiday pay) Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lecturer in Animal Welfare and Management to join our dynamic team. This role involves teaching and training students to the highest standards, managing courses, and contributing to the development of our Animal Welfare curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Teach full-time, part-time, and short courses. Act as a course tutor, managing attendance, and collecting data for course evaluation. Maintain records of student achievements and conduct placement visits. Counsel students and maintain discipline. Participate in student recruitment activities. Contribute to curriculum development to meet industry demands. Engage in practical demonstrations and activities with students. Participate in quality monitoring processes. Assist in maintaining resources and commercial activities. Attend meetings and courses beneficial to the College and personal development. Promote and adhere to the College’s Safeguarding and Health & Safety Policies. Manage student conduct in line with College policies. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion. Qualifications : BSc in Animal Care or related subject (essential). MSc/MA or PhD in a relevant subject area (desirable). Professional qualification or equivalent (essential). Diploma in Teaching and Learning (or willingness to achieve) (essential). Minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent) (essential). Experience & Skills: Experience in the Animal Welfare industry. Up-to-date knowledge of the Animal Science industry. Experience in the HE/FE sector (desirable). Ability to present information effectively and motivate students. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Experience in developing, planning, and delivering high-quality learning experiences. Personal Attributes: Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
