General Cover Teacher – Stockport

Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £120 - £160 per day (dependent on experience)
A well-regarded secondary school in Stockport is looking for a reliable General Cover Teacher to provide cover for absent teachers across a range of subjects. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher. This role will provide you with the opportunity to experience different areas of teaching while making a positive impact on student learning and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver pre-planned lessons: You will be required to follow the lessons that have been planned by the absent teacher, ensuring that the curriculum is delivered effectively.
* Classroom management: Maintain control of the classroom and foster a positive learning environment, ensuring that students stay on task and behave appropriately.
* Provide support to students: While delivering the lesson, you will be expected to assist students with tasks and provide additional help where necessary.
* Ensure smooth transitions: Support students in transitioning between activities or subjects, ensuring the continuity of their learning experience.
* Adhere to school policies: Follow all school policies and procedures, ensuring that you maintain the school's standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and health and safety.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a cover supervisor, supply teacher, or in a similar role.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
* A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable, but not essential.
* A proactive and flexible approach to work.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
