Hays is partnering with a leading supplier of complex precision machined components. They are seeking to add a Payroll Clerk to their team on a temp-to-perm basis! In this role, you will manage the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. This will involve close collaboration with HR and finance teams.
Your new role
1. As the Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for calculating and processing payroll for 270 staff members on a monthly basis.
2. You will run the Flexipay software and assist with implementing a new payroll system - Payescape.
3. You will take into account bonuses and deductions on a regular schedule.
4. You will ensure compliance with local laws and tax regulations, maintain accurate payroll records, and update employee data as needed.
5. You will generate payroll reports and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.
6. You will address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll.
7. You will conduct regular audits of payroll processes to identify and rectify errors.
8. You will collaborate with HR and finance teams to gather and verify payroll data.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have proven experience in payroll processing and knowledge of relevant payroll software. A strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance standards is essential. You will also need excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £30k, depending on your experience. You will be entitled to 32 days of holiday, including a 7-day shutdown over Christmas.
