Specialist Sports Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiography
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team of cardiac staff. We are looking for a BSE Adult Accredited Echocardiographer to deliver our sports cardiology screening services to football clubs across the UK.
This role has an increasing and variable workload; the individual needs to be able to respond to a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to travel and adapt as required.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Physiologist. Customer service is crucial to the delivery of our services and maintaining relationships across our client base. You must be self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
As a Specialist Sports Cardiac Physiologist, you will report into the Lead Echocardiographer and Directors, delivering our quality echo service across our sports cardiology clients, namely amateur/professional footballers across UK football clubs.
Main duties of the job
It is envisaged that this role will primarily be based along the M4 corridor, although locations further afield may be required, covering quite a large area. Travel will be required in line with business requirements.
You will be expected to have an understanding of the physiological changes to the athlete's heart and differentiation from pathology.
You will be responsible for performing a Resting ECG and a Transthoracic Echocardiogram to BSE guidance and additional measurements to support elite athlete sports cardiology assessments (additional training will be provided to support this if needed). This is a unique opportunity to work with elite sports people and their medical teams and provides an opportunity for those with an interest in this area.
The role involves screening at the club or the organization's training facilities, and as such, a willingness to travel is essential for this role.
We have a digital capability that allows staff to work remotely and connect with our cardiologists and share images and reports.
We have regular departmental meetings with CPD, clinical presentations, and teaching from our cardiologists.
External CPD is encouraged, and support is given to attend conferences and scientific meetings.
