Our Client Our Client is a small and successful accountancy firm which was set up in 2008 by an industry Tax expert. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AAT-qualified accountant (or QBE) to join their Personal Tax Department. The Role This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working with small business clients and has a keen interest in personal tax. You will be responsible for preparing accounts and tax returns while supporting clients with their tax compliance needs. As part of your career development, they offer a study support package for those interested in progressing towards the ATT qualification. Key Responsibilities: Prepare year-end accounts and financial statements for small business clients, including sole traders and partnerships. Assist in the preparation of personal tax returns for a variety of clients. Support clients with tax compliance, ensuring deadlines are met and submissions are accurate. Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients where necessary. Provide general accounting and tax advice to small business owners. Work collaboratively with the wider tax team to deliver excellent client service. The Candidate AAT qualified (Level 4) with experience in an accountancy practice or Qualified by experience. Strong understanding of accounts preparation and tax return processes. Keen interest in personal tax with a desire to work towards ATT qualification. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently. Strong communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues. Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar is desirable. Terms The role is seeking minimum 20 hrs/wk up to full-time. Please indicate your preferred working hours and pattern on application. A salary of c£30K FTE is on offer depending on experience.
