We have opportunities at the following levels within our Corporate Tax Team: Corporate Tax Assistant Manager Corporate Tax Manager Corporate Tax Senior Manager Corporate Tax Director We are seeking individuals who have corporate and business tax experience within a specialist team. Alternatively, with regard to the Assistant Manager and Manager positions, the roles would suit candidates who have a background in general practice, for instance within accounts production work or within an audit team, but who have had some exposure to corporate/business tax work and are looking to build on their existing knowledge develop a specialism going forward. The firm will fully support transition from a general practice role, if applicable. The successful candidate(s) can be based at any of our locations, but will need to be prepared to undertake some travel between Ensors offices and to client sites in the region. The roles can be combined with an element of homeworking under the firm’s agile working policy. Our client portfolio includes corporate and business clients across the spectrum, both in terms of sector and size, ranging from the very small, to groups turning over several hundreds of million, and including OMBs, subsidiaries of larger international groups, charities and LLPs. The roles These are interesting and varied roles that provide real scope for personal and career development: Assistant Manager / Manager The successful candidate(s) will work closely with senior managers and partners, assisting them with both tax compliance and advisory matters, both in terms of preparation and review. With appropriate supervision, they will draft computations, letters and reports for manager / partner review. They will prepare key client reporting documents, adhere to cost budgets and be involved with various tax compliance and advisory projects. Senior Manager / Director The successful candidate(s) will work closely with the Corporate Tax partners based in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, and with the rest of the team across the region. They will draw on their strong technical expertise to provide excellent front-line client service, alongside supervising the work of more junior staff and assisting with their development, both in terms of complex compliance work and advisory. They will also be actively involved in business development activities. Skills required all levels: Recent experience within a professional services environment and a working knowledge of corporate and business tax is essential ICAEW/ACCA or ATT qualified, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience; Prior CTA qualification would be advantageous, alternatively the firm will provide study support to embark on /continue the CTA qualification Must be keen to be involved in planning and technical aspects of tax compliance and advisory work, and to develop their skills A high level of ICT (Excel, Word) literacy is required. Experience using Alphatax and CCH software would be advantageous, but not essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to develop client relationships Self-motivated, hard-working, flexible and prepared to undertake some travel within East Anglia. A driving licence and access to transport is essential Desirable skills Senior Manager and above: Experience of all aspects of corporate and business tax within a professional services environment is essential, including, but not limited to: Supervision of the production of Corporation Tax Returns, computations and related advice; Remuneration planning and profit extraction Tax issues surrounding business acquisitions and disposals, including entitlement to Business Asset Disposal Relief, to facilitate working alongside the Corporate Finance team on M&A transactions Corporate group restructuring Capital Allowances R&D tax credits, Patent Box and Land Remediation Relief Cross border issues, including Transfer Pricing and large company compliance obligations Loan Relationships Employment Related Securities, including employee share schemes EIS / SEIS Tax due diligence The package includes: We offer an attractive salary with numerous benefits in a friendly working environment.
